Welcome to us

Located centrally near Årstaberg station is Sjöviksskolan, a modern F-9 school (grades 1-9). The school's facilities were completed in 2020 and designed with a special focus on creating creative learning environments with a high sense of security. This is reflected in the absence of corridors, the separation of older and younger students into different areas, and the prominent role of art in the premises. The school's specialized rooms are located in the main building, which houses the older students. For the youngest students, there is a movement room, and each homeroom area has an atelier for creative activities, reducing the need for movement between buildings. Students meet daily in the cafeteria, where they have their own sections, as well as on the schoolyard.

The school operates as a three-parallel organization where each grade level forms a work team. Each grade has its own homeroom area where the three classes in that grade have their classrooms, along with associated group rooms and workspaces. The work in the team is led by a team leader who, together with the school management, forms the school's leadership group. The pedagogical development work in teacher groups is led by the school's lead teacher.

Sjöviksskolan's vision is to create opportunities for the future. We do this by working with our core values: proud, brave, and together. All students at Sjöviksskolan should feel pride in who they are. They should feel proud of their journey through school, the knowledge and skills they develop, and the community we create together. During their studies with us, students should develop courage – the courage to be themselves, to dare to try new things, and the courage to fulfill their dreams. We do all this together. No one should be alone at Sjöviksskolan; everyone should find community, in smaller contexts with those closest to them, in larger contexts with those they meet every day, and in the big picture – all of us at Sjövik!

Your role

For the academic year 2026/2027, we are now looking for an engaged teacher in Swedish and French. The position is a permanent full-time appointment (100%). You will belong to one of the work teams in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9). The role includes teaching in Swedish and French, as well as mentoring students in grade 8. Positive, driven, engaged, solution-oriented, and clear leadership are qualities we value.

  • distribute the work in the team so that all colleagues take responsibility and become involved.
  • involve colleagues in leadership responsibility, so that the group becomes self-sufficient.
  • give the group new challenges and allow colleagues' competencies to be utilized.
