Do you want to make a real difference in the daily lives of students? As a Student Assistant at Nacka Adapted Upper Secondary School, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their development, both academically and socially, within a safe and inclusive school environment.

Your Role

As a Student Assistant at Nacka Adapted Upper Secondary School, you will follow and support one or more classes throughout the entire school day. Your mission is to contribute to a safe, structured, and developmental school environment where students are given the opportunity to grow based on their individual prerequisites. You will assist students with their schoolwork, build safe and professional relationships, and adapt your support according to their individual needs. You work with patience, encouraging students to manage as much as possible on their own, while remaining attentive to when they need assistance.

You participate in all parts of the school day, including lessons, breaks, sports, lunch, and activities such as the UF kiosk, as well as accompanying students on excursions and study visits. You collaborate with teachers and other staff, contribute to safety in social contexts, mediate conflicts, and monitor the well-being of students. The role requires a calm and clear approach, good overview, and the ability to determine when to intervene and when to wait.

Your Background

For this position, you are required to have:

• a secondary education (gymnasium)
• good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

The following qualifications are meritorious:

• education or completed courses within intellectual disability
• experience working in adapted primary and/or upper secondary schools
• experience working with students with intellectual disabilities
• experience working with young people
• good knowledge and experience regarding Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF)
• knowledge of sign language communication and/or other alternative communication methods, such as picture support communication.
