We are looking for a temporary position as a housing support worker for Nygårdens Motivations- and Support Housing.

Nygårdens Motivations- and Support Housing is intended for people with various social difficulties such as homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance abuse problems, who need support on the path to an independent life.

In the operation, the individual's needs and conditions are put in focus. We work with Motivational Interviewing (MI), low-affective approach, and have close collaboration with coordinators, social services, and work coaches. Your task as a housing support worker is to provide continuous support based on each person's individual needs, create security, and motivate towards a sober and drug-free life. An important part of the work is to develop skills in our clients and motivate them towards work or other activities.

We work to guide, advise, and support the client towards a more independent life. The tasks include drawing up implementation plans and documenting according to current legislation. The support provided is a needs-assessed intervention according to the Social Services Act (SoL).

To thrive in this role, we believe you need to be flexible, stress-resistant, and independent. You should have good collaboration and analytical skills, as well as the ability to independently plan, execute, and follow up on interventions.

You have the ability to provide support without compromising the client's right to self-determination or taking over responsibility for the client's life. You believe that change is possible and can convey calm and a positive feeling to clients even in difficult circumstances.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant education for the task, e.g., treatment pedagogue, social pedagogue, nursing program with psychiatry focus, or what the employer considers equivalent. Previous experience from the area, addiction, and mental health is an advantage. A driver's license is required for the work as a housing support worker.

You have empathy and respect for our clients and their situation. You take responsibility for your task by making your own decisions and being proactive. You are independent as well as able to work in a team. You express yourself well in speech and writing and show good judgment and a positive view of humanity with respectful treatment. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.

Conditions

Temporary position during the period 2026-09-01 to 2027-08-15, or according to agreement. Scope 100%, working days, evenings, weekends, and sleeping on-call duty. Interviews may take place continuously during the application period.
