The role of Support Assistant at our facility

In the role of Support Assistant at Gällingevägens group housing, the starting point is that every resident has the opportunity for development, becomes involved, and has the chance to influence and create a meaningful daily life and leisure time. Since many of our residents lack developed speech, you will learn which communication methods suit different situations and environments.

The residents at Gällingevägens group housing often have a great need for structure and clear routines, as well as predictability, which requires a methodical approach to work. Challenging behaviors, self-harming behaviors, and high noise levels can occur, including during parts of the night shifts.

Whether you have worked with similar populations before or not, it is important to us that you get time to learn about our working methods, and that the residents get to know you. We offer a clear introduction plan so you have the opportunity to learn our routines, our approach, and above all, our residents whom we support in all aspects of their daily lives and weekends.

Your profile

As a person, you are responsible for both collective and individual tasks. You have an approach that shows respect and consideration for those we serve. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues, management, and other partners, and you are interested in creating understanding in your surroundings to contribute to a respectful work climate. You have the ability to balance different demands while maintaining calm in difficult situations. You can also distinguish between behavior and the person. You express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, as this is required in daily work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who:

• has education relevant to the target group or experience that the employer deems equivalent.

It is an advantage if:

• you have knowledge and/or work experience with autism.
• you have a B-driver's license and access to a car. This is due to public transport not being fully developed to the group housing. If you do not have a B-driver's license but can get to the group housing by other means, especially on weekends and late evenings, you are of course welcome to apply.

Gällingevägens group housing is located in a rural environment in Gällinge, Fjärås. The location was chosen with care for the target group, based on the need for as few stimuli as possible, and a calm, stress-free environment with both greenery and walking opportunities. The target group is young adults with autism and multiple disabilities, and the group housing has six apartments.

The work group currently consists of a large team working on a rotating schedule with day, evening, and every other weekend shifts, as well as staff working awake night shifts.
