About the workplace

Surteskolan has a need for a teaching assistant during the 2026/2027 school year.

Surteskolan is a grades F-6 school located just north of Gothenburg. The school is beautifully situated on a hill surrounded by forest and has approximately 220 students. What distinguishes Surteskolan are our small classes of 17–23 students each, divided into two work teams (lower and middle school), but collaborating across the entire F-6 spectrum. We are a small school with close-knit relationships among staff. Teaching staff, student health services, administration, cleaning, and catering are in constant dialogue to find the best solutions for our students.

Surteskolan is located close enough to Gothenburg to be counted in Zone A with Västtrafik. The commuter train takes you from Central Station to Surte in 10 minutes.

Responsibilities

You will provide support to a student in Year 2 during the school day, both in the classroom and during breaks.

Collaborate with the class teacher to create the best conditions for the student and the class. Additionally, collaborate with guardians to maintain good dialogue and transparency regarding the school's work with the student.

Qualifications

The assignment requires pedagogical awareness and a caring attitude. We are looking for someone who has previously worked in educational activities and/or care. Education is a requirement, but several different directions may be interesting depending on your experience combined with your education.

Other

The position is a fixed-term employment to ensure that the assignment suits you and that a good relationship can be established between you, the student, and the guardians. Possibility of permanent employment exists in the long term.

The need is for 75%, but full-time employment can be discussed.

A valid extract from the criminal record must be presented, via digital mailbox via email or to the responsible recruiter when you meet in the final phase (the extract must be valid within 1 year).
