Do you want to work in a structured manner with a focus on the needs of children and young people? We are looking for a social worker who wants to contribute both professionalism and commitment.

The Workplace

The Social Services Administration in Karlsborg is responsible for elderly care, care for people with disabilities, municipal healthcare, and individual and family care. The administration has approximately 250 employees.

At IFO (Individual and Family Care), you will be part of a team with the opportunity to work broadly and variably, close to decision-makers, providers, and with good cooperation with schools and other actors. We care for our staff by ensuring a good work environment and following it up. Staff receive continuous internal and external training, external supervision, and we also offer flexible working hours.

We are a small but broad unit with much will, joy, and engagement. You will be part of a wonderful team that always does the little extra for our municipal residents and their colleagues. Coffee breaks, laughter, and collegial togetherness are the keys to handling the difficult work we perform daily.

As an employee at IFO, you will be involved in the development currently underway in our operations. We are in the midst of an exciting transition process based on the new Social Services Act. In our small municipality, we all help each other to find new ways to meet our residents in accordance with the new law; to be easily accessible and to work preventively. If you would like to be part of finding the path for the new social services together with us, perhaps you are our new colleague.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker in the Children and Youth Group, you investigate children and young people according to the Social Services Act. If interventions are needed, you initiate the intervention for the child/young person and the custodian. Interventions can include open care in the form of family treatment or contact family, placement in a foster home, supported housing, or residential care (HVB). You work closely with the Senior Social Worker and your colleagues. As a social worker, you follow up on the approved intervention to ensure it yields positive results for the child/young person. If necessary, other interventions can be added.

In the Children and Youth Group, the work includes conversations with the child/young person, the custodian, and other important people for the child. Collaboration with other actors such as open care, schools, the region, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) is often crucial. A significant part of the work is documentation in the form of case files, investigations, follow-ups, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker and want to work with children and young people within authority operations. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with child welfare investigations and BBiC.

It is important that you see the family itself, the family's own network, and the rest of the professional network as important resources in the family's change process.

As an employee of Karlsborg Municipality, you will benefit from a range of perks such as paid vacation from the first year of employment and individual salary setting.
