Description of the workplace

Östanbo is a newly built group home that was completed in the spring of 2024, and is part of the Functional Support area within the Welfare sector. You will work closely with your colleagues, your unit manager, and other partners, and we collaborate with other operations within the area.

Östanbo group home offers housing for five individuals covered by the Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS). The overarching goal of the law is for the individual to be able to live like everyone else without being limited by their impairment. Here, together with your colleagues, you will work to provide the residents of Östanbo with the best possible living conditions.

Your role

We help and support the residents with care measures based on their individual needs and wishes, according to approved assistance. The work is carried out based on established implementation plans and goals. The role involves providing support in all household tasks such as planning, personal hygiene, clothing care, laundry, cleaning, diet, cooking, shopping, finances, medication, social training, as well as leisure and cultural activities. Other important tasks include developing and maintaining individual abilities and communication, as well as supporting the users' self-determination and personal integrity. We create and maintain conditions for quality of life, security, and self-determination.

The working hours are spread throughout all hours of the day and are continuously adjusted to the needs of the operation. You need to be available to work days, nights, and weekends to be considered for the position.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a support pedagogue/support assistant or have passed a care and nursing program, or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent. We would prefer that you have previously worked as a support assistant or have experience in care-related and/or pedagogical work. It is a positive if you have experience with clarifying pedagogy. Since the work requires communication and documentation, we assume you are computer literate and proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written.

As a person, you are good at conveying security, have a low-affective approach, and can handle complex expressions. You are stress-resistant, value collaboration, and display a professional approach to everyone in your work. You work from a holistic perspective and have the ability to plan and structure your work. Furthermore, you need to be able to make your own decisions while respecting decisions made by others and being able to perform work on behalf of others.
