About Nynässkolan

Nynässkolan is a modern school for grades 7 to 9, where we share a collective responsibility for the school's mission regarding both values and knowledge. We want our students to feel a positive drive, trust in their abilities, and the opportunity to develop according to their own conditions. The school has approximately 540 students distributed across 19 classes.

The school is located in the heart of Gävle, a stone's throw from one of Sweden's largest urban parks, Boulogner Forest. We have newly built, beautiful, and functional premises adapted to a modern school. We are a school with a diverse mix of students and staff from various backgrounds and cultures, which we see as a strength where we can learn from and develop together. Job Information

Nynässkolan is now seeking a certified teacher who will work in small teaching groups. The position is a permanent employment with a start date of August 12, 2026. Selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities

You will teach in small groups, focusing heavily on safety, presence, and a structured learning environment. You will collaborate closely with the student health service, subject teachers, special education teachers, and special needs pedagogues. The groups are aimed at students who need extra support in their schooling.

Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a joyful, varied, and high-quality school day where student development and well-being are in focus. You support and challenge students so they achieve good academic results, adapting teaching to their different needs and conditions. The work is carried out in close cooperation with other educators, student health services, guardians, and external actors, in accordance with current goals and guidelines.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Planning, implementing, assessing, and evaluating teaching.
• Working with individualized instruction in small groups.
• Working flexibly at the school, quickly adapting your tasks.
• Maintaining contact with guardians.
• Working in a small team.
• Mapping student needs and adapting teaching to their conditions.
• Shaping the day and teaching based on student needs.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a teacher's degree and teacher certification with eligibility to teach grades 7-9.
• Is familiar with and has knowledge of the Swedish curriculum for compulsory school.
• Has the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, as this is required for dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Experience working with individualized instruction.
• Experience working with adapted instruction in small groups.
• Broad subject eligibility.
• Special pedagogical competence.
• Experience teaching in a classroom setting.

Personal qualities:

• Natural aptitude for leading and motivating students, helping them thrive and feel good.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in change.
• Ability to create calm and clarity in both groups and in meetings with individual students.
• An inclusive working method that makes every student feel a sense of belonging and security.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, maintaining a good and non-hierarchical approach to collaboration.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
