Make a difference. Every day.

The Department of Infectious Diseases at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is responsible for patients with infectious and immunodeficiency diseases. The department operates in both Malmö and Lund, providing inpatient care, outpatient clinics, and needle exchange services at both locations. In total, the department manages three wards with a combined total of 71 beds. We treat patients primarily with acute infectious diseases such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, wound and soft tissue infections, gastroenteritis, endocarditis, spondylitis, and sepsis. We also treat patients with HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, tropical diseases such as malaria, and patients being investigated for fever of unknown origin. Both outpatient and needle exchange services are available in Malmö and Lund. We provide extensive consultancy services to the rest of Sus as well as surrounding hospitals in the region/healthcare region, and we are active participants in the Sus Hospital at Home (SSH) program at both locations, which offers inpatient care in the patient's own home environment.

Our department has broad contacts with other activities within the hospital, as well as with other actors in healthcare, such as Smittskydd Skåne (Infection Control Skåne), Infection Prevention and Control, Clinical Microbiology, as well as universities and colleges. Within the department, there is a constant work on development, education, and research.

We strive to be an attractive workplace where you are given the opportunity to grow professionally throughout your career, and where the patient's best interest is always in focus. Job Description

We are now looking for Associate Chief Physicians who wish to work clinically with associated development work, for the Department of Infectious Diseases in both Malmö and Lund.

We work in an acute setting where we meet patients with complex conditions. We face exciting questions daily and try to find solutions through collaboration and team spirit, always with the patient in focus. The role involves working with all common tasks within the department, including inpatient care, outpatient care, consultancy, on-call duties, and education. Education and supervision of less experienced doctors is a natural part of the role.

Research is an important part of the department, with close links between practice and science. We work to create a good work environment that includes job satisfaction and mutual respect.

The advertisement concerns three positions based in Malmö, where each position will be profiled towards a specific area of responsibility. The three specific areas of responsibility are the consultancy service, the SSH (Hospital at Home) service, and the POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) service at the section.

Qualifications

You, the applicant, are a licensed physician with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare and have:

  • Specialist competence in infectious diseases
  • Swedish language skills at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale
  • Completed or planned course in clinical supervision
  • Full-time employment for at least three years (documented effective time)
  • Clinical proficiency and independence in infectious diseases
  • Documented teaching and supervisory merits

Doctoral thesis and/or specialist degree can be credited for a total of six months of clinical employment.

To meet patients and their relatives in a respectful and empathetic manner, we assume that you are sensitive and have good pedagogical skills. You are responsible and feel a great commitment to your work. You value working in a team with colleagues from different professions, and your ability to collaborate makes it easy for you to build good relationships and cooperate both within and outside the unit. You have an interest in development and research. Personal suitability is given great weight.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This you may have acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training, and as co-supervisor or main supervisor of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.

When you submit your application, you must fill in the questionnaire, which must be completely and correctly filled out. You also need to attach your documents digitally; see "Other" below for which documents you need to send. For us to assess your application, it must be complete.

Apply today!

Employment type: Permanent.
Duration: Start date by agreement.

In addition to the electronic application, the applicant must attach a medical license and specialist competence certificate. For the position of Associate Chief Physician and Chief Physician, an employment certificate must also be attached.
