Ophthalmology in Skåne is primarily conducted within accredited care selections. The Open Care Selection in eye care and the cataract care selection are conducted at the clinic in Helsingborg together with highly specialized eye care (non-accredited).

The Eye Care Unit (part of the Dermatology, Ophthalmology, and ENT business area) is a unit with emergency and scheduled outpatient visits as well as outpatient surgeries. We have approximately 60 employees, including doctors, nurses, orthoptists, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and receptionists. The clinic offers a wide range of services, from general ophthalmology to subspecialties in cataract and glaucoma surgery, glaucoma, medical retina, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At our clinic, you will work with general and emergency ophthalmological outpatient visits, including subspecialties in cataract and glaucoma surgery, glaucoma, medical retina, pediatric ophthalmology, and neuro-ophthalmology, based on your competence and experience.

You also have great opportunities for research within the framework of the upcoming employment. The relative extent of the mentioned tasks can be discussed, and we are open to different combinations. We have emergency operations (daytime, weekdays) and on-call duty for four hours on Saturdays and Sundays. We train resident specialists (ST-doctors) and have a mandate to conduct medical education for seventh-term students. All colleagues participate in teaching and supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed physician with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare and who have specialist competence in eye diseases. It is an advantage if you have specialist competence in pediatric ophthalmology, glaucoma, and/or medical retina as well as neuro-ophthalmology. In addition, knowledge of Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Furthermore, you have basic knowledge of handling medical record and image systems as well as administrative functions.
