In primary care, we work closely with both patients and colleagues to promote health, prevent disease, and offer individualized diet and nutrition treatment. As a dietitian with us, you will become part of a large and engaged dietitian group within Region Skåne.

The dietitian service is organized within public primary care and consists of 43 employees working at health centers, in specialized palliative care, and at child and adolescent clinics. We are an experienced and knowledgeable group with broad competence in various diagnoses, conditions, and preventive work. Through close collaboration, you will have access to your colleagues' combined experience and knowledge, creating excellent opportunities for both support and development.

"Working as a dietitian in Primary Care is very developmental and fun. It is never boring! I work with everyone from small children to older adults with different diagnoses, so you learn a lot. We also have several training opportunities; our manager is very open to us getting educated if we see a need or feel like delving deeper into something. Job Responsibilities

As a dietitian, you work with diet and nutrition treatment within both prevention and treatment for patients of different ages and with varying needs and diagnoses. The work includes both individual patient meetings and group activities. An important aspect of the role is the interdisciplinary collaboration at the health center. You contribute your specific expertise while also benefiting from the knowledge and experience of other professions.

We work, among other things, with dietitian-led follow-up after bariatric surgery in primary care and targeted health talks for 40- and 50-year-olds. In addition, you provide support and further education in the field of nutrition to other healthcare staff by, among other things, working in our Helpdesk, Dietitian Direct, for primary care staff in Region Skåne, and developing information material.

"I appreciate the freedom to plan my own working days and have an influence. I have the opportunity to run different groups, for example, regarding overweight, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), or individual conversations. Furthermore, the management and my colleagues are gold! Even though I sit alone in my role at the health center, I have a large network with other dietitian colleagues, and there are always competent colleagues just a conversation or email away," says Hanna.

We are also investing in digital development within diet and nutrition treatment. In the autumn of 2026, a new support and treatment program will be introduced to serve as a complementary tool for our dietitians. Possibility for some remote work exists, but the majority of working hours are based at the health center.

As a new employee, you will receive a well-thought-out introduction with shadowing by an experienced dietitian and an appointed mentor as support during your first period with us.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered dietitian with the eligibility to work within Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement.

Since you are part of our team, your personal qualities are of great importance. As a person, you like to take responsibility and make your own decisions. We also see that you have a good ability to adapt to changed circumstances and that you can vary independent work with teamwork. Other valuable qualities are that you are structured, creative, and proactive. In addition, you have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing adapted to the target group.
