The Youth Clinic (UM) is often the place where young people first come into contact with healthcare, and it is important that they receive a warm, welcoming, and professional reception. In Region Skåne, we have eleven youth clinics and UM Skåne Online. We are organized into five areas, each with its own unit manager under a common operations manager. Our youth clinics are pleasant workplaces with dedicated employees. The team consists of counselors, midwives, psychologists, nurses, physiotherapists, assistant nurses, and doctors. We work with young people aged 12 to 24, focusing on promoting physical, mental, and sexual health.

UM Mellersta consists of three clinics under one unit manager: Lund, Eslöv, and Landskrona. The clinic in Lund is our largest on the unit and is open during the day, Monday to Friday, with the exception that we have evening opening on Mondays until 6:30 PM. The clinic in Landskrona is open during the day, Monday to Friday. Currently, the clinic in Eslöv is closed, but our ambition is to reopen it in the future.

WORK ASSIGNMENTS

We now have the opportunity to offer a permanent position at our clinic in Landskrona and are looking for an engaged midwife who wants to make a difference in the lives of young people.

The duties of a midwife at the youth clinic include contraceptive counseling, gynecological examinations, STI diagnostics, treatment and contact tracing, pregnancy tests, and sexological issues. Outward-facing work towards school classes or other groups of young people, as well as other professionals, is also included in the duties. You will also work with UM Skåne Online, where you meet young people via video calls.

The role involves a lot of individual and independent work, but we also value good collaboration with the other professional groups at the clinic. Our work requires a high level of engagement and respect for the living conditions of young people. We work from a salutogenic perspective with a norm-critical approach. Your specific competence is of great importance for the team to be able to offer our visitors good interdisciplinary care.

The location for the position is Landskrona, but work in Lund occurs approximately twice a month. During holiday periods, such as summer and Christmas/New Year, work in Lund is more common. Working hours are during the day.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed midwife with prescribing rights and eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. We would like you to have worked a few years as a midwife and/or have sexological competence.

You can work independently but also believe that close collaboration within the team is important. You have a positive attitude with a genuine desire to work in a promoting and preventive manner. Within the administration, there is also vision, hearing, and deafness operations and the youth clinics in Skåne.
