Clinical Pharmacology is a department under development and part of the university healthcare within Region Skåne. We are a small unit with big visions. Clinical Pharmacology represents the rational application of modern drug treatment and is part of the Business Area (VO) Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology, which is part of the Administration of Medical Services. Our workplace is in Lund.

The Business Area Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology operates in 10 hospitals in Skåne and has approximately 140 employees. Furthermore, Clinical Chemistry and Pharmacology is organized into units and processes with unit managers and process leaders working in close collaboration. Clinical Pharmacology is a unit consisting of eleven physicians and pharmacists. For us, it is natural to collaborate across professional boundaries to provide the best possible results for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities include, among other things, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM), medical assessment of pharmacogenetic analyses, on-call and consulting services for other healthcare personnel, and work in one or more of the Local Drug Committees' working groups. The Regional Drug Information Centre (LÄIF) in the Southern Healthcare Region is a central part of our operations, and you will work with investigating incoming inquiries. As a specialist physician, you are expected to supervise ST-doctors (specialty trainees) and serve as a back-up on-call doctor.

Research and development work is an integrated part of the work within Clinical Pharmacology. Teaching students and healthcare personnel is also included in the responsibilities. We offer you an stimulating, pleasant, and positive workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS

You, the applicant, are a licensed physician with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in Clinical Pharmacology. Proficiency in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. It is considered an advantage if you have a PhD and experience teaching students in various pre-professional programs as well as licensed healthcare personnel. Also, experience working with drug issues in a psychiatric or intensive care context, experience with pharmacogenetic analyses, experience working in drug committees, and experience working in a regional drug information center are considered merits.

As a person, you have very good communication skills, good collaboration skills with clinically working healthcare personnel as well as other professional groups, and a scientific interest in the subject. Naturally, you want to be an active part in the development of Clinical Pharmacology in Region Skåne. You are interested in clinical-pharmacological research and teaching and in sharing your knowledge with others. Personal suitability is given great weight.

At a university healthcare unit, physicians are required to have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervising, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training, and as co-supervisor or main supervisor of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience of supervision and teaching at different levels.
