Description of the workplace

The research group is driven by the goal of understanding how we can use the normal development of the nervous system to understand the onset of cancer. We work transdisciplinarily across the boundaries between developmental and tumor biology. The group is located at BMC in Lund and is part of the strategic infrastructures Lund Stem Cell Center (SCC) and Lund University Cancer Center (LUCC).

We conduct high-quality research while placing great emphasis on maintaining an stimulating environment in the lab.

We are now looking for a laboratory assistant for a fixed-term position at 50% for six months. Desired start date: September 1, 2026.

Tasks and responsibilities

As a laboratory assistant, the work will involve a significant amount of laboratory work, leading projects, and participating in scientific activities such as seminars and meetings.

Other tasks may also become relevant.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

• Master's degree in molecular biology or equivalent
• Documented experience in laboratory work, including cell culture, Western blot, immunocytochemistry, in vivo modeling in chicken embryos, and 3D microscopy.
• Proficiency in analyzing and processing research data using software such as GraphPad Prism, ImageJ, and R.
• Excellent ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Qualifications that are considered meritorious for the position are:

• Experience of international cooperation and good knowledge of English.
• Ability to independently drive laboratory work forward, quickly adapt to new tasks, and a strong commitment and interest in research.

Other information

The position is fixed-term according to SÄVA (special fixed-term employment) at 50% for 6 months. The desired start date is September 1, 2026, or as agreed.
