Teacher for After-School Center at Glasbergsskolan

Glasbergsskolan is a school with approximately 300 students ranging from preschool class to grade 6. We are now looking for an engaged and creative teacher for our after-school center. Guided by our motto The whole child – the whole day, we work with the child and learning as our focal points. There are two work teams here: one working with students in grades F–3 and another with grades 4–6. The school is modern with exciting architecture, dominated by large glass sections, resulting in bright and beautiful premises.

We offer you meaningful work in a workplace focused on creative learning environments, play, active work with value-based issues, and a language- and knowledge-developing approach. The proximity to the school forest and Gunnebo Castle makes it advantageous to hold activities outdoors during the school day.

We are now seeking a key person who can drive development and strengthen the mission of our after-school center.

About the City of Mölndal

In the School Administration of the City of Mölndal, we work every day to create the best conditions for the development and lifelong learning of children and students. With approximately 2,000 dedicated employees and 12,000 children and students in our operations, we are Mölndal's largest administration – and a hub for the education of the future. Here, you will become part of a curious, brave, and solution-focused organization where innovation is encouraged and the best interests of the child always come first.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you help lay the foundation for lifelong learning. Being professional at Glasbergsskolan means having high expectations and a belief that all students can achieve success based on their prerequisites. We want the school to be characterized by a clear focus on ensuring that all children, based on their prerequisites, have a foundation to succeed in their continued schooling. An inclusive perspective on pedagogical work permeates our operations.

Here, there are experienced and skilled educators, and we encourage collegial learning. Together with your colleagues, you will plan, develop, and implement teaching at the after-school center as well as in recess activities. As a teacher in the after-school center, you contribute to a positive and developmental environment with a good balance of care and learning. Together with colleagues, you drive and develop the after-school center at Glasbergsskolan.

In your role, you contribute knowledge and ideas on how to systematically realize goals based on the curriculum and values in accordance with Lgr22. The after-school center at Glasbergsskolan is in a development phase. Therefore, we are looking for someone who not only has the ability to lead and organize work effectively but also to inspire and motivate staff.

An important part of teaching in the after-school center is aesthetic expression; promoting students' imagination and ability to learn together with others through play, movement, and creativity. Another important part of teaching is movement and understanding what affects health and well-being, as well as developing students' ability to take into account personal needs for balance between activity and rest.

During after-school hours, you lead groups of students in various activities both indoors and outdoors. During school hours, you are a support for and help the whole class, groups of students, or individual students.

The school is well-equipped with digital tools, and we actively work with digitalization. The culture at Glasbergsskolan is characterized by positive treatment, a participatory culture, and innovative employees with a forward-looking attitude. We are a highly driven staff group that sees opportunities before obstacles. Skilled educators ensure that every child is met and developed from their own level, from preschool class to grade 6, and through a meaningful after-school experience.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a primary school teacher with a focus on after-school care, or who are awaiting licensure. By law, licensure is required for permanent employment.

You should be able to translate pedagogical theory into practical work and be well familiar with the school's and after-school center's governing documents. You reflect on practical work in a systematic way, both individually and together with colleagues. You can organize your work, are secure, stable, driven, and solution-focused.
