About Us

Järvastadens School is a newly established F-3 school (Grades 1-3) and will have approximately 190 students this autumn. The school opened in 2024 and has a heterogeneous student body from the local area. The school is located in the Järvastaden district, easily accessible by both commuter train and bus.

Ulriksdal School is an F-9 school (Grades 1-9) with approximately 700 students, of whom about 200 are in the intermediate grades. The school opened in 2014 and has a heterogeneous student body from the local area. The school is located in the Ulriksdal district, easily accessible by both commuter train and bus. Beautiful natural areas are located near both schools.

The Role

We are currently seeking two qualified childcare workers (barnskötare) for the after-school care program (fritidshem), one placement at Järvastadens School and one at Ulriksdal School.

Together with your colleagues in the work team, you are responsible for ensuring that the students' entire school day is developmental and content-rich. Your main task is to design and develop the operations for the lower primary school in collaboration with the rest of the team, based on the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr11), to lay a good foundation for the children's development. During the school day, you collaborate within the classroom and then work at the shared after-school care center in the afternoon. Through teaching based on research and experience, you create developmental and pedagogically conscious learning environments and activities.

Your duties involve collaborating during school hours under the pedagogical responsibility of the teacher. Together with other after-school staff, you plan, develop, and are responsible for the after-school care activities. You are also responsible, together with the work team, for student supervision and activities during breaks, after-school hours, and other non-lesson-bound time.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a qualified childcare worker
  • bases their work on the students' needs, interests, and experiences
  • has knowledge of the steering documents for schools and after-school care

As a person, you enjoy collaborating with others but also working independently. As a childcare worker, you are structured and have the ability to stimulate students' development and learning. You have an empathetic and democratic approach towards students, guardians, and colleagues, with a creative and flexible working method that promotes student learning.
