About the position
Personal assistance is a support measure under the LSS Act (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). As a personal assistant, your main task will be to help the client with everything that arises in daily life as well as with basic needs. Your work involves protecting the client's self-determination and integrity, and contributing to a smooth daily routine. Each assistance is uniquely adapted to the client's life, so tasks may vary depending on the workplace.
The client is a 62-year-old woman living on Lidingö. She has Parkinson's disease, which affects her motor skills and speech. The client can walk independently but has balance issues, meaning there is a risk of falling and she needs physical support when moving. A manual lift is also available in the home for use when needed.
Tasks include personal care, household chores, and support with activities. The client always decides what she wants to do, and during the summer half-year, she particularly enjoys going for walks or having coffee.
Who are you?
The role of personal assistant places high demands on the ability to build good relationships. We are looking for someone who is calm, patient, and receptive. Since the client's speech can sometimes be unclear, it is crucial that you can listen actively, maintain inner calm, and give her the time she needs to respond. You also need to be able to read her cues and sense when she is too tired to talk.
It is also important that you are engaged, can take initiative, and see what needs to be done in the home. To thrive in this role, it is important that there is good personal chemistry between you and the client.
Requirements for the position:
- Experience with Parkinson's disease
- Good knowledge of Swedish
- Good physical condition to support the client during transfers
- Completely fragrance-free during working hours (no perfumes or strong scents allowed due to allergy/sensitivity)
Merits for the position:
- Arabic-speaking
- Experience in similar work as a personal assistant
- Share the client's interest in walks and coffee
Personal suitability will be given great weight.
Working hours, degree of employment, and salary
We are looking for two personal assistants. The employment type is "as long as the assistance assignment lasts" with an employment degree of approximately 66%.
The positions have a rolling two-week schedule covering weekdays and weekends, from 10:30–18:00.
Position 1
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
Position 2
- Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday
- Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
There is also a need for hourly substitutes, which means work as needed with varying hours during the day, evening, and night.
Shifts are scheduled according to the following times:
- Day: 07:00–15:00 and 10:00–17:00
- Evening: 15:00–21:00
- Night (awake night): 21:00–08:00
Fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other benefits according to collective agreement.
Start date according to agreement.
