We are looking for you who want to work as a casual substitute for a one-year-and-seven-month-old boy with a tracheostomy in Tumba, south of Stockholm. As a casual substitute, you will cover gaps that arise in the schedule. The boy's needs require supervision and interventions around the clock. As an assistant in this assignment, you are offered a rewarding job with a happy, social, and cozy little boy. The family consists of the boy's mother and father. The family has an active lifestyle, and as an assistant, you will work in close proximity to the boy – both at home and when the family goes on outings. The work involves some care as well as social interaction with the boy.

Since the boy breathes through a tracheostomy cannula, you will always work as two assistants together to ensure that his breathing functions correctly. A central part of the work is to prevent blockages in the cannula by regularly removing mucus/saliva with a suction catheter and giving mucolytic inhalations. You will receive a theoretical introduction to the medical tasks at LIVA at the new Karolinska University Hospital and training at home with assistant colleagues.

Other requirements for you as an assistant in this assignment:

• You are a non-smoker.
• You have unimpeded Swedish in speech and writing.
• Previous experience with tracheostomy is meritorious.
• Education as a nursing assistant or childcare worker is meritorious.

About the employment
Employment form: Employment on an as-needed basis. We offer a fixed hourly wage according to agreement. Other compensations according to collective agreement (Fremia/Kommunal – Personal Assistance). The working hours may vary as the boy has double assistance around the clock. The work shifts are as follows: 08–15, 15–22, and 22–08.

The selection process takes place continuously, and more information about the assignment will be provided during a possible interview. Start date is by agreement.
