Your role
As a social secretary in the child group, you form the important link in the entire investigation process for children living in vulnerable situations. It is an exciting and meaningful role where you make a difference for children and their families. You work with preliminary assessments, investigations, support, and follow-up of interventions for children, young people, and parents. We work according to BBIC (Barns Behov I Centrum / Children's Needs in the Center), which is a unified system for social child care. The goal of our work is to help parents manage their relationships and parental roles better. Ultimately, the goal is for the children and young people in the families to be well. We strive to provide families with support at an early stage and as much as possible in their own homes. To achieve this goal, we collaborate with other resources, such as authorities and organizations.
The work involves exercising authority according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Special Provisions on Care of Young Persons (LVU). The tasks include assessing the individual's need for care/help, making decisions, implementing decisions, documenting, collaborating, coordinating interventions, supporting, and motivating. Our goal is to provide Skärholmen's residents with legal security and good treatment in their contact with us.
Meeting our children and their families in conversations is an important part of the work.
As support in our work, we use BBIC and various methods for assessment and conversation, such as EARL and Signs of Safety, all with the aim of conducting qualitative investigations and assessments. We also actively work to make children more involved in their own investigations.
Your competence and experience
A social work degree is required for the position.
The following are meritorious:
- Experience in exercising authority within social services, especially in the child and youth area
- Documented knowledge of BBIC and Signs of Safety
- Documented knowledge of EARL, Conversations with Children, and/or MI (Motivational Interviewing)
- Very good ability to express yourself well in both speech and writing in Swedish
- Good ability to document and compile investigations
You are service-oriented, calm, attentive, and accommodating in your treatment of others. You have the interest, will, and ability to help and establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You have the ability to drive the work forward both flexibly and independently, as well as in collaboration with your coworkers. You have the ability to prioritize, make correct assessments, and make decisions in different situations. You have a great interest in continuing to develop and improve working methods within social work together with the team. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
