About Us

Parkskolan is a small, newly renovated primary school for students from preschool class to grade 3. The school is located in a green oasis in Hagalund, close to Solna Centre and with good transport links. Here, dedicated and knowledgeable teachers and leisure-time staff support and challenge students in their learning.

We have many community-building activities to ensure everyone feels safe and included in the school and at the after-school center. The work in the classrooms is characterized by a calm atmosphere with a focus on learning and knowledge.

Parkskolan is now looking for a school counselor for a fixed-term position with an extent between 20–40 %.

What Does the Job Involve?

As a school counselor, you work at the organizational level, group level, and with individual students. Your duties include, among other things, working preventively and promotively together with the pedagogical staff to strengthen individuals and groups, as well as providing advice and support to students and their parents. As needed, you may also supervise and support teachers in matters concerning the students' social situation. You will serve as a support for the principal and teachers in difficult conversations and contacts with guardians.

In the school's student health team, where special education teachers, school nurses, school psychologists, and assistant principals are your closest collaborators, you provide psychosocial competence and handle documentation. Together, you work supportively and preventively directed towards the school's staff.

In addition to conversations with students and parents, the duties include health-promoting and security-building values-based work in the school, where you are responsible for the work on our plan against bullying and discrimination. In the event of harassment and bullying, you, together with a designated staff group, are responsible for preventive and investigative work, as well as follow-up and documentation. You are the contact person for external partners such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP). You will also have traditional counselor duties.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work or equivalent education.
• Experience in quality work and documentation.
• Experience working with students of all ages, but especially those in primary school grades F–3.
• Experience in difficult conversations with guardians and other involved parties.

We are looking for someone with the empathy to put themselves in another's perspective without taking over the person's feelings. You are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations and can maintain a realistic perspective where you focus on the right things. You work systematically, can weigh together complex information, and show judgment in actions and decisions.
