The Economics and Reception Unit, part of the Individual and Family Care department, works to provide appropriate support to residents in need of financial assistance, investigations regarding protection needs in cases of domestic violence, handling of estates, and housing issues. The unit also includes the municipality's budget department and debt counselors. The team consists of social workers, social assistants, a team leader, and a unit manager. We work in modern offices in Täby Center using an activity-based working model.

We are currently looking for two social workers to join our reception group for financial assistance.

About the Job

Your mission is to investigate and assess eligibility for financial assistance. Here you will meet people applying for financial assistance for the first time or those returning after a period of self-sufficiency. You investigate the right to financial assistance and create an individual plan together with the client, with the goal of helping them return to a socially and economically independent life.

The work is broad and varied, allowing you to combine meetings with people and careful case processing. You have colleagues to consult with, but also personal responsibility for your cases.

You will:

  • process cases regarding financial assistance in accordance with current legislation
  • conduct investigations, assessments, and follow-ups with a focus on a holistic view and progression
  • hold structured conversations with individuals to identify needs and plan interventions
  • collaborate with internal and external actors, such as the labor market unit and other authorities
  • document and ensure the quality of your cases according to municipal procedures
  • actively contribute to the unit's development work, collegial learning, and improvement of working methods

We are looking for someone who is confident in their interactions with people, appreciates order and structure, and simultaneously has a solution-oriented mindset.

You need to be able to combine empathy with clarity, and communicate in a clear, respectful, and inclusive manner. You are not afraid of making decisions, but you also know when it is time to consult a colleague.

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds a degree in Social Work (Social Worker)
  • has relevant experience from social work, case processing, or other authority work
  • is confident in working according to legislation, guidelines, and established processes
  • has good written and verbal communication skills in Swedish
  • is structured, solution-oriented, and good at prioritizing when many things are happening simultaneously
  • thrives working both independently and in a team, and actively contributes to an open and supportive work climate
