About the School

The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station and 40 minutes from Stockholm Central Station. The governing body is a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that is constantly growing and developing, with nearly 190 students ranging from preschool class to grade 9, as well as after-school care.

Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic view of the students, aiming to develop the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Key features of our pedagogy include working with cross-curricular theme periods and integrating creative activities such as art, crafts, and music into all school subjects.

The Position

This is a permanent position at 80–100% employment, starting with a six-month probationary period. The start date is August 10, 2026.

Job Description

We are looking for you who want to work as a teacher in grade 2, with Lgr 22 (the Swedish National Curriculum) as a clear foundation and Waldorf pedagogy as your method and approach.

You will be part of a work team that collaboratively works to help students reach their highest potential.

As a class teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating student instruction, both individually and in collaboration with colleagues, student health services, and school leadership. You will also foster good relationships with students, staff, and guardians through meetings and documentation.

Qualifications

• State teaching certification or Waldorf teacher certification.
• You have an aptitude for creating a creative environment for students, where relationship-building is a natural part of daily life.
• You have the ability to awaken curiosity and wonder in your students.
• Knowledge of and/or interest in Waldorf pedagogy, along with the desire to develop as a teacher and human being.
• Several years of professional experience is an advantage.
