About the Company

At Avaron, you get the security of a permanent employment combined with the variety of working on-site with different clients. We recruit specialists in everything from technology, IT, and industry to project management and business support – and regardless of the assignment, you have a consulting manager who is there for you and your development.

About the Role

Here you will contribute to long-term and secure urban development by mapping how water moves on the surface during heavy rainfall. In a municipal community planning context, you will produce a basis for decision-making that shows where larger secondary runoff paths are located and how they can be handled proactively in planning to protect lives, property, and critical infrastructure.

The assignment is closely related to work with comprehensive planning and land use. You combine hydrological analysis with GIS and produce materials that help the organization understand where measures may be needed, where flows can be diverted, and where it is appropriate to reserve land for future interventions. This makes the role particularly interesting for those who want to work at the intersection of surface water, extreme rainfall, and physical planning with clear societal benefits.

Responsibilities
  • You map where the larger secondary surface runoff paths are located and analyze how water moves during extreme rainfall.
  • You identify potential sources of flows and assess how flows can be reduced, diverted, or broken through various measures.
  • You translate the analysis into a concrete planning basis that can be used in comprehensive planning and land use issues.
  • You produce a short and clear report that is easy to understand even for people without specialist competence in the field.
  • You deliver the results in GIS and ensure that the data is georeferenced, clearly described with attributes and metadata, and structured according to current geodata requirements.
  • You contribute with reviews and audit materials during the work process so that the delivery maintains the right quality before final handover.
Requirements
  • You have documented experience of similar assignments. Similar assignments refer to work with surface runoff, possibly in combination with extreme rainfall management.
  • You have relevant subject matter expertise in surface water management, extreme rainfall, and comprehensive planning, or a clear specialization in parts of the area in a delivery where the whole is covered.
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly in text and can make technical conclusions understandable to recipients without specialist knowledge.
  • You have a relevant academic education.
  • You have experience in producing and delivering GIS materials with georeferenced data, clear attributes, and metadata in established geodata formats.
Merits
  • It is meritorious if you have completed several similar projects focusing on surface runoff.
  • It is also meritorious if you have extra deep experience in analyses related to surface runoff.
We Offer
  • Permanent employment at Avaron AB
  • Pension plan
  • Wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year
