Do you want to take the next step in your career while contributing to a safer society? With us, you have the opportunity to use your expertise in air logistics in an operation with an important societal mission.

About Us

The Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) is responsible for logistics support to units, schools, and centers within the Swedish Armed Forces – both nationally and internationally. FMLOG includes the Swedish Armed Forces Transport Unit, which serves as the central transport command of the Swedish Armed Forces, with functional leadership responsibility for transport services within the strategic and operational transport of personnel, materiel, and entire units. Transport is carried out via air, sea, road, and rail, both within and outside the country.

The Development and Function Department supports senior management planning with specialist knowledge in transport functions such as contracts, customs, and dangerous goods, as well as subject matter specialists in the transport modes AIR, SEA, ROAD, and RAIL. The central transport command is still in the establishment and development phase, creating opportunities to influence, be proactive, and take significant responsibility in this position.

Main Responsibilities

As a Subject Matter Specialist, you will work in a dynamic environment where tasks vary in nature and you have numerous contact points. Your work and the operations you are part of are prerequisites for ensuring the Swedish Armed Forces' and allies' needs for military mobility.

You will lead the establishment and further development of the Swedish Armed Forces' overall transport capacity within your specialist area based on given strategic guidelines. You will participate in preparatory work, drafting of directives and guidelines regarding the securing of the Swedish Armed Forces' transport capacity. Within the AIR transport mode, this involves capacity, infrastructure, command, and technology, where you develop directives, instructions, and other documentation within your specialist area.

You establish and maintain national and international relationships within the transport sector, including both authorities and industry organizations. This also includes representing the Swedish Armed Forces in international cooperation forums within your specialist area when necessary.

As a Subject Matter Specialist, you are a knowledge resource for the Swedish Armed Forces organization and should be prepared to participate in military exercises within the framework of the wartime units at all conflict levels.

Qualifications

  • An academic degree or certification in air logistics or equivalent competence assessed by the employer as equal and relevant.
  • Several years of experience working in civil logistics or supply chain management within air transport.
  • Experience of collaboration with authorities.
  • Current and broad experience in project work.
  • Good administrative skills.
  • Category B driver's license.

Personal Attributes

We welcome you if you have operational capability and find it exciting to contribute to the restoration of the Swedish Armed Forces' and the Total Defence's capabilities.

You have the ability to create efficient processes and directives in collaboration with others and to document them. You build relationships easily, collaborate seamlessly with internal and external actors at different levels, and have a good understanding of others' requirements and conditions. You can also act independently, take initiative, and create creative solutions for an efficient structure in operations.

Since you handle tasks involving oral and written presentation in the role of Supply Chain Specialist/Subject Matter Specialist, we also see that you are analytical, structured, and communicative with good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

  • Experience within the Swedish Armed Forces logistics area with a focus on transport.
  • Experience of public procurement of transport services.
