Job Information
Tommy Leindahl Engineering develops and delivers customized production solutions to some of Sweden's largest industrial and pharmaceutical companies. Projects vary greatly in scope and complexity, but what they have in common is that they involve technical challenges that cannot be solved with standard products.
As a Mechanical Designer, you are responsible for the entire design flow within your projects. You work closely with customers, project managers, production, and suppliers to develop solutions that meet both technical requirements and regulatory standards. The role involves significant personal responsibility and the opportunity to influence both technical choices and working methods. You will be based at the office and workshop in Södertälje, working alongside a team of six.
Professionals Nord is recruiting a Mechanical Designer in collaboration with Tommy Leindahl Engineering. Responsibilities
In the role of Mechanical Designer, you work with customized solutions within production equipment, automation-adjacent mechanics, and special machines. Projects may include production equipment for the pharmaceutical industry, transport systems within industry, or other specially adapted production solutions.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Mechanical design in SolidWorks
- Developing design proposals, layouts, and technical solutions
- Feasibility studies and requirement gathering together with the customer
- Documentation, risk assessments, and technical reports
- Collaboration with production, suppliers, and external partners
- Participation in testing, installations, and verification of solutions
- Project follow-up from the idea stage to final delivery
We are looking for someone who
- Has a post-secondary education in mechanical engineering, mechanics, mechatronics, or similar
- Has 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design within industrial operations
- Has good knowledge of CAD, preferably SolidWorks
- Has an understanding of manufacturing, production, or workshop environments
- Has good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
The following qualifications are considered meritorious:
- Experience from smaller technology or consulting firms
- Experience with production equipment or special machines
- Knowledge in electronics, control systems, or automation
- Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry or regulated environments
- Experience with CNC, machining, or practical workshop work
