Seeking two dedicated school assistants for adapted primary school in Kristinehamn

We are currently looking for two dedicated school assistants on a fixed-term basis until 2027-01-08.

About the School

The adapted primary school, focusing on subjects and subject areas, is located under the northern principal's district. The school consists of three classes focusing on subjects: grades 1–3, 4–6, and 7–9, located at Stenstalidskolan. The focus on subject areas is housed in the facilities of Hacklehemsskolan and is divided into four teaching groups. Here, students study five different subject areas: aesthetic activities, communication, motor skills, daily activities, and perception of reality. Each class has one teacher and several school assistants.

The school has two after-school centers; one is for students up to 11 years old, and the other is for students up to 13 years old. We are also responsible for short-term supervision where older students up to 21 years old can be present before and after school hours. The schoolyard is spacious and close to both forests and playgrounds.

Responsibilities

As a school assistant, you will work to support our students during their schooling and during after-school activities/short-term supervision. You will support and help students handle various situations, both in their personal development and in their knowledge acquisition. Examples of situations may include after-school activities, teaching, hygiene, and meal times. The work is varied, and no two days are alike.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have a high school diploma, and we prefer that you are trained as a youth leader, assistant nurse, or have other pedagogical education.

Since many of our students have multiple disabilities, it is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) or Sign-supported AAC
  • Care and nursing work

You are a secure and empathetic person who meets students with respect, patience, and professionalism. You have the ability to create calm, structure, and predictability, which is crucial in the students' daily lives.

You are flexible and solution-focused, and enjoy collaborating closely with colleagues, teachers, and student health services. With your engagement, you contribute to ensuring that every student receives the best possible support in their development.

Interviews and Employment

Interviews will take place starting from June 19.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.

Duration: Permanent, start date: 2026-08-03.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, the EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit.
