Description

We are now looking for a special needs educator to our wonderful, competent, and dedicated student health team at Kvarnbergsskolan!

Kvarnbergsskolan is located at the top of Kvarnberget and has approximately 300 students from preschool class to year 6. The newly renovated and extended school was inaugurated in autumn 2020 and offers excellent learning environments as well as several areas that provide good opportunities for varied outdoor activities. We also collaborate with the Sports School and the Arts School to provide our students with a broad and stimulating education. At our school, the student's learning and well-being are at the center, and we strive to create an inclusive and supportive school environment for everyone.

The value base is created by everyone who is part of the school and strives to apply our values in both conversations with students, staff, and guardians, as well as in practical action. Responsibilities

As a special needs educator, you work preventively and promotively, but also with remedial measures and provide targeted support to students. You work together with other colleagues in the student health team; special needs teachers, special needs educators, counselors, school nurses, and school psychologists, as well as educators at Kvarnbergsskolan. Together with our student health team, you plan and drive the work regarding students in need of special support. You are skilled at supporting teachers in making adjustments in the school's different learning environments and you have good competence regarding how to work with and organize for special support.

You have a genuine interest in the children's situation and are sensitive to the needs of different students and have a flexible working style. You should be able to meet with guardians and lead meetings both together with colleagues and on your own. It is meritorious if you have experience/training for working with children who have different functional variations. The position includes mentoring teachers as well as supporting the school's different pedagogical working groups from a special needs educational perspective.

You want to drive active improvement work regarding how we organize teaching so that all students can have their needs met. You are well-read and interested in pedagogical research and are generous in sharing your knowledge with others.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed special needs educator and have experience working with various analysis and mapping materials to be able to make correct pedagogical assessments.

As a person, you need to have a good ability to plan and structure by setting clear goals for teaching and support measures based on students' individual needs and follow up on results continuously. You understand how students learn in different ways and adapt methods according to their unique needs, strengths, and difficulties, as well as analyzing and improving your own teaching based on students' development and feedback. You have a good ability to motivate students to overcome challenges to dare to try new things. Take initiative and make decisions to drive the work forward, even in complex or difficult situations.
