Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium has two school buildings, Parkskolan and Nolaskolan. A total of over 1,800 students study here, distributed across five university-preparatory programs, ten vocational programs, as well as introductory programs and adapted upper secondary school. Örnsköldsvik Gymnasium is designated as a training school, meaning student teachers are a regular part of the school community.

Job Responsibilities

You will teach guitar, electric guitar, and other music subjects. Your duties include teaching, planning, documentation, and contact with students and guardians. The role also involves collaborating with subject and work teams.

The responsibilities often include mentoring a group of students. This entails significant responsibility for following up on and supporting your mentees, as well as actively participating in student health work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified upper secondary school teacher with subject competence in music and knowledge of teaching guitar/electric guitar, or other experience that the employer deems equivalent.

We seek someone who enjoys challenges and innovative thinking, and who sees diversity and differences as a foundation for learning and development. You are a confident adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.

We would appreciate it if you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the skill to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are attentive, responsible, engaged, and creative.

We welcome proficiency in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

Several positions in our municipality are classified for security, so security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
