The positions are permanent full-time (100%) and a fixed-term contract from 2026-08-11 to 2026-12-31.

Job Description

Your task will be to lead and drive the pedagogical work in the after-school center (fritidshem) together with other educators, based on the national curriculum and other governing documents. You will also be responsible for teaching Physical Education and Health in Year 5.

As an after-school educator, you will play a key role in daily operations. With a conscious approach, you will enable children to discover and develop their abilities in a comprehensive manner. A crucial part of the role is ensuring that all children are seen and feel that they have a clear place at the school and the after-school center.

You are responsible for providing children with a learning environment that is educational, challenging, meaningful, creative, and exciting. Together with your colleagues, you will engage in an ongoing pedagogical dialogue with a desire to change, deepen, and develop practices.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified after-school educator (fritidspedagog) or a teacher with a specialization in after-school centers.

We prefer that you have previous experience working with groups of children. You have a positive attitude and an interest in developing work methods, as well as spreading knowledge and experience to colleagues.

We welcome proficiency in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.

Some positions in our municipality are classified for security reasons, so a security clearance may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
