Welcome to the Björna School Catchment Area
We offer operations at four different school units: Björna, Gideå, Hemling, and Trehörningsjö. We have after-school care, pre-school class, and primary school with students from pre-school class up to grade nine. In our school catchment area, we work largely in mixed-age groups. The grade levels are small, creating a close and family-like atmosphere in the schools.
If you are new to your profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality has an induction program for new teachers, which means you will receive a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject qualifications who can guide and support you.
Responsibilities
You will teach English in grades 4-9 and will have overall responsibility for the student group, handling the documentation and contacts this entails. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the job. The role involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching together with a work team.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a teacher's degree and subject qualification in English for grades 4-9.
We see that you enjoy being challenged, like to think outside the box, and view differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.
We would appreciate that you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the ability to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are attentive, take responsibility, are engaged, and creative.
Please attach your CV and cover letter to your application.
We look forward to receiving your application!
A certificate of good conduct (extract from the Police Register) must be submitted to the employer upon employment.
At the Education Administration, we work to create good conditions for every child's and student's learning, development, and creativity. We want to create a safe and inspiring learning environment where the joy of learning is in focus and where children, students, and staff meet each other with respect.
As part of the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Approved documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license + personal certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or another ID document that strengthens citizenship. For some positions, presentation of extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal record register is required. We appreciate language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is included in both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are placed in security classifications, so security clearance may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
