Special Education Teacher with a focus on Intellectual Disability (IF) at Adapted Primary School – Arenaskolan

About the position

As a special education teacher in our adapted primary school, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on the students' individual prerequisites and the goals of the education. You work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and student health services to create a cohesive and developing school day for the students.

The role includes, among other things:

• planning and implementing teaching in adapted primary school
• creating structured, accessible, and motivating learning environments
• using clarifying pedagogy and alternative communication forms when needed
• guiding and collaborating with teaching assistants in the pedagogical work
• contributing to the school's continued development and collegial learning.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a certified special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disability (IF) or has other education that the employer considers equivalent
• has experience teaching in adapted primary school
• has a good ability to build relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians
• sees opportunities and adapts teaching based on students' needs
• is secure, solution-focused, and has clear pedagogical leadership
• enjoys working together with others and contributing to a positive work climate.
