Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees meet with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools across the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall Municipality's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals based on their own prerequisites. Every student should leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good conditions to face adult life and the future.

Your new workplace

Matfors School is located in the center of the idyllic Matfors area, and our operations cover preschool class to grade nine. The school has approximately 600 students and an after-school center (fritidshem) for approximately 170 students. The school has a pleasant work climate where we value good treatment and care for each other. We believe in clear, pedagogical leadership, an accessible learning environment, and differentiated instruction to create the best conditions for student learning. We run a thoughtful systematic quality work with the goal of preventing pedagogical obstacles in school life as well as the student's health and learning.

How you contribute as a teacher

As a lower secondary school teacher, your main task is to plan, implement, and follow up on teaching based on the school's governing documents. Together with your work team, you drive and develop the pedagogical operations for the benefit of the student at the individual, group, and organizational levels.

We are looking for you who are a teacher with the qualification to teach Spanish, Swedish, and English in lower secondary school.

Your tasks: Teaching in grades 7-9. (The position includes preparation and follow-up work, documentation, occasional parent contact, and other common tasks in the profession).

You base your planning and implementation of teaching on the student's individual needs to give every student the best possible learning situation. Mentoring is part of your role. As a pedagogue, you work to strengthen the student's self-esteem socially and emotionally.

You are familiar with and work according to the school's equal treatment plan to create study peace and security. You participate in the work team and subject team's work: these are the engine for school development at Matfors School! You contribute to the school's systematic quality work. You work according to the school's governing documents (curriculum, course plan, and local work plans). You work as a mentor for a class.

Your competence and experience

We are primarily looking for you who have the qualification for grades 7–9 in Spanish, Swedish, and English. You are also welcome to apply if you have other, equivalent pedagogical education.

You show great commitment to the school's operations and have good ability to plan thoughtful and differentiated instruction. You are keen on developing teaching so that it becomes accessible to all students. You have experience meeting students who need both extra adjustments and challenges.

You have the ability to see and strengthen the positive in students. You are flexible and confident in yourself. You have good cooperation skills, are solution-focused, see opportunities instead of obstacles, take initiative, and create good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Good to know

Salary: Monthly/hourly salary. Individual and differentiated salary setting is applied.

Conditions: Salary supplements beyond the monthly salary follow the applicable collective agreement. Central collective agreements can be found on the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions website, www.skr.se

Collective Agreement: HÖK with Agreement M
