Do you want to help create professional pride, joy in work, and hope for the future? At Astar, we educate adults – in an adult manner. We are proud of our mission and are now looking for you who share our values and want to make a difference.
About Us
Astar is a leading actor within adult education. Our vision is to contribute to a strong and resilient labor market. We offer not just education and jobs – we create professional pride and joy in work.
Our Values
- Professional Pride – We are knowledgeable, experienced, and work closely with the labor market. We use resources wisely and with respect.
- Perseverance – We never give up – neither on our students nor on ourselves. We believe in development through responsibility and high expectations.
- Joy in Work – We build good relationships, are curious, enthusiastic, and welcoming. Together, we create a workplace where you want to thrive.
About the Role
In the role of vocational teacher, you teach both practically and theoretically in upper secondary courses and modules within care and assistance, such as nursing, health and medical care, functional capacity and disabilities, gerontology and geriatrics, psychology and interaction, documentation, ethics and values, and service and communication in care environments.
You will lead the teaching based on the Astar Model, where clear steps, controlled understanding, and structured guidance create the best possible conditions for students' security, learning, and professional development.
Your task is to plan and conduct teacher-led instruction that gives students the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to work professionally as a care assistant.
This involves alternating practical moments, such as basic nursing, hygiene routines, meal support, personal care, ergonomic working methods, and interaction in various situations, with theoretical presentations on subjects such as anatomy and physiology, pathology, documentation, working environment, regulations, and guidelines.
The role also includes actively sourcing, matching, and following up on workplace-based learning (APL) placements. Therefore, we are looking for you with a broad network of companies within facility management and other relevant operations to ensure safe, professional, and developmental practicum environments. From the start of the education, you work closely with working life and support students on their path to employment, further studies, and a strong professional identity.
As a teacher and employee with us, you base your work on Astar's value basis – professional pride, perseverance, and joy in work. This means you maintain a high professional level, take full responsibility, contribute to the development of teaching, and build good relationships with both students and partners. Together with colleagues, you contribute to a welcoming, engaged, and solution-focused work team where the student's development is always at the center.
We are looking for you who have
- At least one (1) year of full-time experience teaching in care and assistance education within the last six years.
- Legitimation as a teacher in care and assistance.
If you do not meet these requirements, we kindly ask you not to apply, as these are strict requirements from our client.
We offer
- A workplace where you can grow and develop.
- A team that supports each other and celebrates successes together.
- The opportunity to truly impact people's lives.
We are recruiting continuously, so don't wait – submit your application today.
Do you want to make a difference? Apply today and become part of Astar!
