We are looking for a structured, communicative, and relationship-building Project Engineer specializing in external relations and stakeholder coordination for a major railway program in Scania. This role is ideal for you if you thrive in a coordinating function with many contact points, both internally and externally, and are accustomed to producing clear documentation, driving dialogue, and creating momentum in complex environments.
About the Assignment
As a Project Engineer for External Relations, you will become part of the program's external relations function and work closely with project management on issues concerning stakeholders, consultations, communication, and coordination. The projects have a significant impact on several stakeholders in the region, and the role requires that you can build trust, structure information, and contribute to a clear and transparent dialogue.
The assignment duration is 2 years from the planned start date of September 7, 2026, with the possibility of extension up to a total of 4 years.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will among other things:
- Support project management in external relations and stakeholder matters.
- Be responsible for coordination and dialogue with various stakeholder groups.
- Update stakeholder maps, activity plans, and schedules.
- Assist in the planning and execution of physical consultation meetings.
- Create target-group-adapted presentations, meeting materials, and other information materials.
- Book, prepare, and follow up on meetings with municipalities, regional actors, and authority-adjacent stakeholders.
- Take minutes at internal and external meetings.
- Handle contact via phone and email from individuals and organizations seeking information about the projects.
- Eventually participate in and independently drive meetings with the project's stakeholders.
- Contribute to knowledge transfer within the tasks you perform.
Workplace and Scope
- Location: Lund.
- Scope: Full-time, 40 hours/week.
- Employment Type: Consulting assignment.
- Workplace: The work is performed on-site in Lund five days a week. This is not a remote assignment.
- Equipment and workspace are provided at the office.
Requirements
You must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- An academic degree in urban planning of at least 180 hp/120 credits, or other education and/or experience assessed as equivalent.
- At least 2 years of work experience from a coordinating role in a relevant area, such as communication, project management, investigation leadership, or similar.
- Experience working with stakeholder dialogue and coordination with several internal and external parties.
- Ability to create target-group-adapted presentations, meeting materials, and other documentation.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
- Valid driver's license (Category B).
- Ability to work independently, structured, and proactively.
- Good communication skills and confidence in speaking in front of larger groups.
- Ability to work on-site in Lund five days a week.
- Ability to participate in mandatory instructions and training at the start of the assignment, including information security, safety, ethics, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience working with several different stakeholder groups in complex projects.
- Experience translating complex information into clear and target-group-adapted communication.
- Experience from the public sector or community-oriented operations.
- Experience with consultations, urban planning, or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with municipalities, regions, county administrative boards, or other public actors.
