Research and education at the Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences (MGeo) address fundamental and applied questions regarding Earth's past, present, and future climate and environment, including human interaction with nature and its consequences for human well-being. MGeo develops and applies groundbreaking methods, models, and techniques within environmental science, Quaternary and bedrock geology, paleontology, physical geography, biodiversity and ecosystem science, remote sensing, geographic information science (GIS), and computational science in environment and health to study processes ranging from the microscopic to the planetary, across all timescales.
The administrative office of the Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences supports the department's administrative operations within finance, HR, educational administration, communication and collaboration, management support, maintenance, and IT.
The Department of Environmental and Earth Sciences was formed in 2026 through the reorganization of three previous departments within the subject area. As a result of this reorganization, there is a need for temporary reinforcement regarding general administrative tasks, and the department is now seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant for the period 2026-08-17 to 2026-12-17.
The Administrative Assistant will work within the management support function in an international and knowledge-intensive environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Your work will focus on diary registration, including the registration of financial documents, as well as various ongoing administrative tasks.
You will also work with procurement and administer direct procurements within all departmental operations. You will be responsible for coordinating the administrative part of the procurement process and ensuring that the procurement follows procedures and guidelines.
In addition, you will review travel expense reports and reimbursements registered in Lund University's payroll system. This task involves reviewing documentation and registration to ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
Qualifications
As this is a temporary part-time reinforcement, you should have experience with:
- Administrative tasks in the public sector.
- Diary registration.
- Procurement and direct procurement in the public sector.
It is an advantage if you have experience working in the administrative systems used by Lund University:

- Primula
- Reviewing travel expense reports.
Other Information
The position is part-time at 75% during the period 2026-08-17 to 2026-12-17.
