We are looking for a Benefits Caseworker for the target group of social psychiatry within the adult second-line care area in Haninge Municipality. This is a fixed-term position lasting until December 2026, with a possibility of extension.
The adult second-line care area includes authority exercises for the target groups of young adults, adults with substance abuse issues, and social psychiatry. We provide own-run housing for these groups, supported housing, social support measures, and our own outpatient care.
The Social Psychiatry Investigation unit works with authority exercises according to the Social Services Act. The unit's overarching goal is to create conditions for increased independence for individuals within the target group. The operations are conducted based on legislative requirements, political goals, and the municipality's guidelines. Together, we work towards the administration's common goals. We are accessible and offer good service; we treat our citizens with professionalism and respect, and we manage taxpayers' money carefully. The focus of the unit's work within authority exercises is secure case processing and uniform assessments.
The unit's assignment is to process applications from individuals, investigate the need for measures, make decisions, and follow up on the measures. The unit consists of seven benefits caseworkers, including one senior caseworker, two administrative positions serving the entire area, and one unit manager.
Your assignment
You will primarily process cases and investigate the need for support and measures for people with mental disabilities. The target group consists of individuals between 18-65 years old who primarily have mental disabilities. Generally, the administration works on developing new ways of working to strengthen the work with people having co-occurring disorders.
Examples of tasks:
- Receive applications and conduct investigations to map the individual's need for measures and make decisions in cases
- Collaborate both externally and internally, lead SIPs (Social Investigation Plans), care planning, and other network meetings
- Document relevant information
- Stay updated with current legislation
- Contribute to the unit's general development and contribute to a good work environment
What we are looking for in you
- Social Work degree or currently studying Social Work (semester 7)
- Theoretical knowledge of current legislation
- Experience with authority exercises and case processing within the area of mental disabilities
- Good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing, and proficiency in the Swedish language
It is important to us that you are a stable person who can maintain calm in difficult situations. You also have a solution-oriented and empathetic approach and are clear and structured in your work. You are independent and have the ability to take initiative to ensure the work flows smoothly. You have good collaboration skills and place great emphasis on providing good treatment, both internally and externally.
We constantly work for a good work environment and therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability.
What we can offer you
An engaging and challenging job, together with knowledgeable and experienced colleagues. We sit in bright, pleasant office spaces with good parking facilities and proximity to shopping centers, restaurants, nature areas with swimming, skiing, and running tracks, as well as to the Handén commuter train station, only 20 minutes from Stockholm city. We have free access to the gym in the municipal building, health care allowance, annual working hours, flexible days, and the possibility of holiday exchange. In the role, you are given the opportunity for external case guidance and continuous competence development.
