About the operations:

Kompassen Escort & Substitute Care is a business conducted according to the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). We only have needs-based employees, several of whom are relatives employed by the municipality. The operations are directed towards children and adults who need support to participate in social contexts or to relieve parents of children with functional impairments.

Substitute Care: The task involves you working with younger children in their home or local area. The purpose is to relieve the child's parents so that the parents can rest, shop, or spend time with siblings.

Escort: The task involves you accompanying the customer on daily activities. This could be as support on the bus ride to university or to help the customer manage their leisure interests.

You may have several different assignments, both as a substitute caregiver and an escort.

The assignments are based on a certain number of hours per month. Currently, there are assignments from 6 hours a month up to 40 hours a month.

 

Tasks:

In the role of substitute caregiver, you work to relieve parents in families with children with functional impairments, which may include crafts and play with the child at home or nearby. Our individual assignments are for relatively few hours, but there is an opportunity to take on more assignments in different families to work more hours. The work as a substitute caregiver requires that you are curious to capture the children and their interests. The role also requires that you can plan your time and maintain contact with the family you work with.

As an escort, you play an important role in supporting people with disabilities to live an independent and meaningful life. The assignment involves accompanying and assisting the user with various activities outside the home – for example, walks, leisure activities, errands, or social gatherings. The role also requires that you can plan your time and maintain contact with the family you work with.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience from working with people with various functional impairments or from healthcare and social care.
  • Knowledge and experience within the autism spectrum.
  • Knowledge and experience of low-affective approach (calm and non-reactive interaction).
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Educational background in child and functional impairment issues is meritorious.
