Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Do you want to make a difference for children and young people?

Are you passionate about social work and want to contribute to ensuring that children and young people receive the right support at the right time? As we expand our staffing, we are now looking for a dedicated Social Secretary for one of the reception units within the Children and Young People department in the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör district administration.

Welcome to us

The district's two reception units work with the target group of children and young people aged 0–20. Here, you will become part of a dedicated team that constantly strives to develop and find new, smart ways of working. You will get a secure start with a proper introduction alongside an experienced colleague. We offer accessible management and support in daily work.

The two reception units each consist of seven social secretaries and one administrative assistant. The units collaborate closely with each other and are led by two unit managers and one area manager.

Your role

As a Social Secretary in our reception unit, you are responsible for conducting protective assessments and preliminary assessments for children and young people aged 0–20. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues, managers, and partner agencies, characterized by clear structures and collegial support.

You work with a holistic perspective where the best interests of the child are always in focus, and you use a systemic theoretical approach in your assessments. You contribute qualified assessments and well-founded grounds for decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), provide consultative support, and create good cooperation with schools, healthcare, and other parts of the social services. The assignment is both meaningful and complex, requiring a combination of empathy and secure professionalism.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds a degree in Social Work (Social Work)
  • has several years of experience in authority work with children and young people
  • has good knowledge of current legislation (SoL, LVU)
  • expresses yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

If you have experience with methods such as Signs of Safety or tools like iRisk, EARL, SAVRY, or ADAD, we consider this an advantage.

To thrive here, we believe you:

  • are an empathetic person who can converse and listen to people's needs
  • have good communication skills and an interest in helping people
  • are structured, self-reliant, and take responsibility for your tasks while valuing collaboration and making decisions that are sometimes perceived as difficult.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We offer

  • A meaningful societal assignment focused on children and young people
  • Secure introduction with a mentor and close management support
  • Competent colleagues who share responsibility and knowledge
  • Balance between work and private life with flexible working hours (winter and summer time, and possibility to swap vacation days)
  • Wellness allowance of 3,000 SEK/year and access to a gym in the building

We work for a good work environment, an open climate, and a learning culture, together developing our work for the best interests of the child.

Other information

For this position, you may be required to submit a current extract from the police criminal record. The extract requested must apply to work with children in activities other than school and childcare.

We do not use personal cover letters in this recruitment. Instead, when you submit your application, you will answer a number of questions. The assessment is made based on your CV and your answers. For selection questions, we ask that you attach your degree certificate.

Stockholm City works with competency-based recruitment aimed at seeing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.

Enskede-Årsta-Vantör is one of 11 district administrations in Stockholm City. As part of Stockholm City, the administration offers preschools and leisure activities, care for the elderly and disabled, social services, preventive and security-building work, urban development, and park maintenance to our 105,000 residents in the district area. We face exciting challenges as the Enskede-Årsta-Vantör district area grows and entirely new neighborhoods are built. Approximately 18,000 new apartments are planned by the year 2030.
