We are currently seeking a new employee for a parental leave position within the county administration, located in Örebro. You are a positive, driven, flexible, and engaged person looking for stimulating and varied work.

Fixed-term contract from 2026-09-01 to 2027-07-30, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Care Administrator, your tasks will include staffing the reception, medical documentation, referral handling, patient administration, diagnosis coding, and other common administrative duties within the clinic.

Qualifications

A degree as a Medical Care Administrator, Medical Secretary, or similar is required. You should have good proficiency in Swedish, be service-oriented, flexible, independent, and meticulous, with strong collaboration skills. You easily build good relationships with both patients and colleagues and enjoy working in a team. Knowledge of the Cosmic journal system is considered an asset. You are open to development, enjoy working towards continuous improvements in operations, and wish to develop in your professional role. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

About the Operations

The Surgical Operations area has close cooperation between the county's three hospitals. The area has a county assignment for emergency and planned surgical care, and we also provide some highly specialized care for patients from outside the county. There are approximately 350 employees across various units such as reception, wards, surgery, and secretariat. Planned care is increasingly located in Karlskoga and Lindesberg, while tumor and trauma operations are concentrated in Örebro. Within the operations area, active development work is conducted with a focus on the patient throughout the entire care process.

Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the county's three emergency hospitals where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. In both 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award "Best University Hospital" from the magazine Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most prestigious category of medical quality, had the best results in accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding.
