DUTIES

The AST group is a municipality-wide special teaching group located at Snäckebacksskolan. There are approximately 10 student places, and the students are in grades 4-9.

As a teacher in our AST group, you teach at both group and individual levels. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other educators and the school's student health team.

Your duties as a student support worker in the AST group include the following:

• Support students with Autism in their daily school attendance and social development.
• Work with alternative communication methods, such as low-affective handling and visual support.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Participate in social training and the development of independence.
• Work closely with other professional groups, such as teachers and special education teachers, to promote the student's knowledge development.
• If necessary, help transport students to and from activities (requirement of a B-driving license).

You should have an interest and knowledge regarding work with students with special needs within autism.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who;

• Have experience and knowledge about students with intellectual Autism, from mild to severe levels.
• Have previous experience from working in other AST activities.
• Are clear and easy to communicate with.
• Have a great interest in learning and development at multiple levels.
• Have experience with alternative communication methods such as low-affective handling and visual support.
• Have a B-driving license, as the position may involve driving students to and from various activities.
• Have a positive attitude and a strong student perspective.

You should be able to express yourself well in speech and writing. You should be able to communicate and collaborate with colleagues, students, guardians, and other professions you encounter in your work. You should have basic knowledge of Office365 and relevant systems for the position. We assume that you have adequate digital competence.
