Job Responsibilities:

We are looking for you who want to work as a student assistant close to the students and adapt your support based on their individual needs. You may work dedicatedly with a single student, with a small group, or as support for the entire class. During lessons, you clarify the teacher's instructions through oral explanations, sign language support, sensory stimulation, or picture support, and you support the students in the teaching under the teacher's guidance. As needed, you also lead lessons based on the teacher's planning. The work may include our after-school activities before and after the school day, where you, together with colleagues, plan and drive the content of the activities.

An important part of the assignment is to support the students in practical moments during the day, such as toilet visits and diaper changes, break activities, meals, lifting and transfers, and meeting up for taxis. You contribute to the students' social development by supporting them in their interaction with others, and you follow their self-care plans, which may involve testing blood sugar, administering medication, or performing tube feeding. Together with other staff, you participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the students' development. By documenting the students' school day, you also help prepare them for as independent a life as possible after school. During a week, you may work on several departments, which requires flexibility and confidence in handling new situations and student groups.

You have close collaboration with guardians, the school's student health team, and other external professionals, such as habilitation and LSS (Support and Service Act). Additionally, you collaborate with other operations at the school, such as the regular primary school and other operations within adapted primary schools.

Requirements for the position:

  • You must be at least 18 years old
  • Post-secondary education as a student assistant or social pedagogue
  • Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing

Merits for the position:

  • Post-secondary education as a childcare worker or assistant nurse, or other education that the employer deems equivalent
  • Further education in:
    • Neuropsychiatric and intellectual disabilities
    • Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
    • Picture support and structure
    • Sign language and support
    • Care (CPR, self-care, care)
  • Experience working in the above-mentioned educational areas
  • Experience working with children/students with autism
  • Experience working with children or young people in need of special support, within school or after-school care.

Personal Qualities:

As a person, you are driven by creating the very best conditions for students within adapted primary school. You have a genuine desire to understand each student based on their conditions, and you meet them with patience, warmth, and respect.

You have a strong empathetic ability and can put yourself in the students' perspective without taking over their feelings. You are flexible and confident in adapting when conditions change, and you maintain calm even in situations requiring quick adjustments.

As a person, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks, while also enjoying close collaboration with colleagues. You listen, communicate, and solve challenges together with others in a receptive and constructive way. You are stress-resistant and have the ability to maintain focus and a realistic perspective even when the pace is high.

You create structure and security around you and contribute to study peace and a positive learning environment. Above all, you have a great commitment to supporting students in their development – both in school and on their path to a more independent life.

We place great importance on personal suitability.
