Special Educator/Special Teacher for Jämjö Knowledge Centre

Jämjö Knowledge Centre is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) located in a beautiful natural environment in Jämjö. The school has approximately 670 students, of whom 330 are in the lower secondary school (grades 7-9). Work at JKC is based on close collaboration between all staff in our various professions to create a shared vision of both learning and students, in order to support them in their development in the best possible way.

We are now looking for a special educator/special teacher for grades 7-9 with a focus on mathematics. You will be part of our competent student health team, which besides you consists of a school nurse, counselor, social pedagogues, special teachers, study counselors, deputy principals, and principal. Our employees are characterized by great engagement and high competence. We work together to create the best and safest learning environment possible. Our students develop well during their school time and meet dedicated employees who want the best for all students. We refer to this as the school's "soil" (foundation).

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a special educator/special teacher, you will work with:

• strengthening the school's preventive and promoting student health work
• developing support measures and adjustments for classes and students, for example in the form of materials and aids
• responsibility for pedagogical investigations, absence investigations, and action plans, among other things
• contact with guardians
• being flexible and able to make interventions in our special education groups
• working with students in need of support individually, in small groups, or support in regular classrooms.
• supervising teachers through coaching conversations and classroom observations
• being part of the development of the school's systematic quality work, which this school year has a major focus on the positive reinforcement of students' strengths and that students are active in their learning process through joint efforts together with the student health team and also the lead teachers. For the next two school years, there is also an ULF project with school researchers participating in the school's systematic quality work.

Qualifications

• A degree in special education or as a special teacher is required.
• Focus on mathematics.
• We are looking for you who are good at creating and strengthening collaborations internally and externally, as well as building new relationships and nurturing existing ones.
