Your Mission
In the role of Special Educational Needs Teacher/Special Teacher, you have an overarching special educational mission at Myrsjö Resource School. You have a coordinating role regarding organization, documentation, intake, and special educational support. With your competence, you contribute to maximizing learning for students within the autism spectrum. You support and implement special educational measures, both individually and in smaller groups, and also teach through targeted support interventions.
With confidence and commitment, you mentor colleagues and work teams in special educational matters. You keep up to date with current research in special education and share your theoretical knowledge and pedagogical competence. You are responsible for pedagogical conferences and work systematically with documentation, follow-up, and investigation of students' needs for special support. You draw up action plans and pedagogical investigations and lead meetings with students and guardians to inform about and discuss selected interventions. The assignment also includes collaboration regarding the students' needs with other actors, both within and outside the school.
The work takes place in close collaboration with school management, teachers, special teachers, student assistants, and the student health team. You are part of the school's well-functioning student health team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, psychologist, school leader, and special educational needs teacher. Together, you work across professions with promoting, preventive, and remedial measures based on the students' needs.
Your Experience
For this position, you are required to have:
- Teacher certification with eligibility to teach in primary school.
- Special educational needs teacher or special teacher degree.
- Experience working as a special educational needs teacher or special teacher.
- Experience working as a teacher.
- Good knowledge of and experience working with students within the autism spectrum or other neuropsychiatric disabilities.
- Experience working in a resource school, special education group, or similar activity.
- Experience mentoring educators.
- Knowledge and experience in documenting support measures and mapping needs, for example, pedagogical mapping and action plans.
- Good digital competence with experience working with digital pedagogical tools.
- Good ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Experience in having a coordinating responsibility.
- Experience leading pedagogical conferences, training, workshops, or similar.
- Relevant education or courses within the autism spectrum.
- Knowledge of and experience working based on clarifying pedagogy and positive behavior support.

You communicate in a clear and pedagogical manner and ensure that your message gets through. Furthermore, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work in a clear and effective way and set and maintain timeframes. You understand the importance of structure, both for students' learning and colleagues' work. Through a good holistic view, you take into account the larger perspective in actions and decisions, always with the best interests of the students and the operation in focus. What We Offer
Myrsjö Resource School is an activity for students within the autism spectrum who are in need of teaching in an adapted learning environment with smaller groups and high staff density. The school has high competence within the autism spectrum, including in the school management. We work based on the primary school curriculum and adapt the pedagogical, social, and physical learning environment based on each student's prerequisites and needs. The school started in the autumn of 2023 and currently has approximately 30 students in grades 1-9. Collegial collaboration is a central part of our activity. Here you work closely with your colleagues in a non-hierarchical climate. Every week we have pedagogical conferences with all employees, and sometimes special educational mentoring from the central Child and Student Health Services. You become part of a team with a strong student focus and a shared commitment to creating good relationships and the best possible conditions for our students.
As a Special Educational Needs Teacher/Special Teacher, you get a central, varied, and responsible role with great opportunities to influence and drive the development of the operation together with school management and colleagues. You work closely with the deputy principal and help shape both working methods and structures. Even though much is already in place, we want to continue developing. You receive support from the central Child and Student Health Services in the form of specialist knowledge, systems, equipment, mentoring, and education. You are also given the opportunity to network, collaborate, and bounce ideas with other special educational needs teachers/special teachers within the municipality's resource schools.
