Söderholmsskolan – a school with heart

Stockholm is growing like never before. Our ambitions are high. Now we are looking for you who want to help shape tomorrow's Stockholm. Söderholmsskolan is a workplace where both young and old should feel good in body and mind! The school is a municipal primary school located in Vårberg, near Vårberg Center. The school is safe and pleasant and has approximately 370 students from preschool class to grade 6, as well as 60 staff members. The school's organization is based on annual work teams in grades F-3 with integrated after-school care, grades 4-6ab, and practical-aesthetic teachers. The after-school care staff are also part of the F-3 work team and contribute to the students' development and learning through collaboration. The school has an open after-school activity for students in grades 4–6. The staff in all school activities show great commitment and skill; they see opportunities and contribute to the school's positive development. The school's combined competence is very high. The unique student composition contributes to a high level of well-being among both students and staff. The school's students feel safe, seen, and experience that they receive a lot of support and help. Everyone working at the school believes that every student attending Söderholmsskolan should receive a high-quality education that gives them knowledge for life, a desire, and the opportunity to choose their own future.

Responsibilities

In your role as special educator/special pedagogue, you work closely together with the teachers and after-school staff in grades F and 1. You have a real insight into the importance of play for language learning and can inspire your teaching colleagues to teach using play as a method. You work towards the goal that all students achieve the knowledge goals and develop as individuals, and that the students feel that the school provides a sense of coherence. You naturally work with special measures for students regarding both extra adaptations and special support. You belong to a special group at the school consisting of 3 special educators and an overarching special pedagogue who leads your work.

The responsibilities include planning together with the teachers and teaching students in class and possibly individually, as well as providing support and advice to the teachers and work team regarding adaptations within the class framework. You support colleagues and the work team in the work of conducting high-quality pedagogical investigations and action plans. We view the student from a holistic perspective where social competencies and good health are important parts that complement knowledge acquisition. We create a good learning climate by building on the students' inherent resources and strengthening their self-image. All students are responsible for and have influence over their own learning development, the class's work, and the school as a whole.

Qualifications

You have a teaching license with eligibility for the earlier years, as well as a special educator/special pedagogue education. You must have reading and writing instruction in your education.
