The Department of Service Science is now seeking a researcher for the CHAMP project, an EU-funded educational and development project focusing on creativity, cultural heritage, placemaking, and entrepreneurship. The project aims to develop master's modules that strengthen future competencies within the Cultural and Creative Sectors and Industries (CCSI).

Responsibilities

The CHAMP project (Creativity, Heritage and Placemaking Module) aims to strengthen the educational landscape within CCSI by developing master's modules that integrate future competencies, new technology, societal transformation and sustainability, ethical and sustainable entrepreneurship, as well as creativity as an innovation capability.

The project works with cultural heritage through placemaking and entrepreneurship, developing students' entrepreneurial, interdisciplinary, and digital competencies. The work is based on close collaboration with colleagues and external actors, involving moments where presence on campus is important.

The responsibilities include:

  • Develop and design a concept for a master's module, including core focus, learning objectives, and expected study outcomes.
  • Structure learning resources and course materials, as well as plan teaching and examination methods.
  • Be responsible for course planning and pedagogical development, integrating entrepreneurship, digital tools, and cultural heritage perspectives.
  • Prepare communication plans, information and marketing materials, and a final dissemination report.
  • Participate in teaching, workshops, project meetings, and student activities.

The work is carried out in close dialogue with the project group, students, and external partners. Regular on-site presence at the Department of Service Science (Campus Helsingborg) is expected as an integrated part of the employment, although limited remote work may be possible by agreement and according to operational needs.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Doctoral degree in interdisciplinary environmental and social sciences with a focus on CCSI.
  • Documented teaching experience at an advanced level in Culture & Creativity Management.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in English.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish for work-related communication.

Terms of employment

Fixed-term employment at 35–40% between 2026-09-01 and 2027-06-15.

Employment is contingent upon the project funding agreement being signed.

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University is one of the country's leading knowledge centers for research and education in social and behavioral sciences. With operations in both Lund and Helsingborg, over 700 employees, and approximately 5,700 full-time equivalent students, the faculty is one of Lund University's largest. The Department of Service Science belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has its operations located at Campus Helsingborg. The department, established in 2000, is a successful interdisciplinary research and educational environment.

The department runs two bachelor's programs in service management. Additionally, there is a master's program in service management with five specializations: culture and creativity management, retailing and consumption, supply chain service management, sustainable service management, and tourism. The language of instruction at the bachelor's level is Swedish, and at the master's level, it is English.

Research at the department starts from current societal problems where the service sector is in focus. The research is organized into five interdisciplinary themes: Sustainability, resources and services; management, organization and work; tourism, place and mobility; consumption, marketing and retail; and cultural and creative industries.
