Are you ready for a new exciting assignment as a teacher? At Södermalmsskolan, we are now looking for two dedicated and inspiring teachers for grades 4–6. Both positions are temporary assignments (substitute roles) until the turn of the year 2026.

In one position, we are looking for you who have subject knowledge in Science (NO), Technology, English, Physical Education, and Music. In the other position, we are looking for you with subject knowledge in English, Physical Education, Art, and Music.

We warmly welcome your application!

About Södermalmsskolan and Kristinehamn Municipality

Södermalmsskolan belongs to the central school area and is a comprehensive school (Grades F–9) with approximately 850 students and many competent employees. Premises and the schoolyard are distributed across Grades F–3, 4–6, and 7–9, where each stage has its naturally defined area with space for play and creativity.

With us, you will work in a school where collaboration, security, and innovation are at the center. We believe in the power of good relationships and in teaching that awakens curiosity and a desire to learn. Are you ready to contribute your competence and energy in an operation where every day counts? Then Södermalmsskolan might be the right place for you.

We are a municipality that puts the student first! Kristinehamn Municipality works for active leadership and employee engagement. This is created through dialogue and interaction between leaders and employees, which creates good conditions for joy in work. As an employee, you can expect support for new ideas, good development opportunities, and the tools you need to perform your work well.

Responsibilities

As a teacher, you plan, implement, and evaluate teaching for grades 4–6 based on the current curriculum and course plans.

Your duties, in addition to teaching, also include mentorship responsibilities. As a mentor, you play an important role in creating and maintaining a holistic view of the student's development, both academically and socially. The mentorship role includes, among other things, leading development conferences and, if necessary, maintaining ongoing contact with guardians to support the student's learning and well-being.

Collaboration with students, guardians, and colleagues is an important part of the assignment. Together with other educators in the work team, you are responsible for developing the operation so that every student is given the best possible conditions for development and learning. You are part of a work team where you share experiences, competence, ideas, and joy in work.

We also see pedagogical documentation as a natural part of our systematic quality work and operational development.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for you who have a teacher education and teacher certification with eligibility for grades 4–6, but we also welcome you who are in the final stages of your education. Since language is our primary tool, you need to have good knowledge of both spoken and written Swedish.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working with children in need of special support
  • Experience working with language and knowledge-developing approaches
  • Knowledge of digital learning platforms
  • Interest in IT

As a teacher with us, you are secure and stable and can handle challenges that occur both inside and outside the classroom. We assume that you have good pedagogical insight, that you understand how students acquire knowledge and their different prerequisites. You adapt your way of conveying messages, inspire learning, and create engagement and participation.

It is important that you have good collaboration skills and create good relationships with colleagues, students, and guardians. You have a good ability to create structure, see opportunities in changes, and consider the best interests of the entire operation in actions and decisions.
