Nordmarkens School is located in the southern part of Årjäng's urban area and is the municipality's largest school. It is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with approximately 700 students and over 100 staff members. The school campus comprises three different buildings, two of which are relatively new. One building is for grades 1-6, another for grades 7-9, and a third for preschool class, after-school care, and preparatory classes.

The lower secondary school (grades 7-9) is the municipality's only lower secondary school, with approximately 330 students. The school was built in 2015, and every student has access to their own computer. The student body represents a cross-section of our society, and approximately 60 staff members work at the school. Teaching is adapted to the students' needs, and the staff has high expectations for students to achieve good results.

We have a well-functioning support system aimed at identifying students quickly and providing early support. The school employs special needs teachers, special educators, counselors, school nurses, and study and career guidance counselors. Through the student health team, access to school psychologists and school doctors is also available.

Job Responsibilities

You are a qualified comprehensive school teacher with the authorization to teach Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language in grades 7-9. You have good knowledge of the school's governing documents and the ability to implement them in practice. You plan structured and goal-oriented teaching and systematically monitor and analyze student results. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swedish. Experience working with multilingual students and language-developing teaching methods is particularly advantageous. You have good digital competence and use relevant digital tools as a natural part of teaching.

You demonstrate clear pedagogical leadership and create a conducive learning environment through structure, relationship-building, and high expectations. You are confident in your professional role, collaborate well with colleagues, and take responsibility for both your own and the organization's development. You are flexible, solution-oriented, and maintain a professional attitude in interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues.

Mentorship is included in the position.
