Description

Vålbergsskolan is now looking for a teacher for preschool class and grades 1–3 who wants to play an important role in our students' development and who has the opportunity to make a difference in their lives.

Approximately 450 students attend Vålbergsskolan, from preschool class to grade 9. The school is located in the western part of Karlstad Municipality.

Here, you will meet a dedicated staff working together to ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. We believe in our students' abilities and strive to create a safe and stimulating learning environment where both knowledge development and personal growth are at the center. We have three after-school centers – Rubinen, Smaragden, and Safiren – where creativity and play are given ample space, often outdoors in our beautiful nature.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher, you will, independently and in collaboration with colleagues, lead and take responsibility for the students' education based on the curriculum's goals. You will collaborate with other educators in the work team to ensure that all students receive positive and meaningful education where knowledge development and social development are in focus.

You will drive the development of education together with colleagues in the work team and with the school's other staff. Through a variety of working methods, forms of expression, and learning environments, you will together create a meaningful day that also takes into account the students' needs, interests, and experiences.

In your role, you will work closely with the school's youngest students – children who are curious, learning, and full of potential. Your most important task is to create a safe and inspiring environment where every student has the opportunity to develop according to their own prerequisites. You are an important adult who sees, listens, and leads – and who every day contributes to building strong foundations for the future.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching license for preschool class and grades 1–3.

As a person, you are a secure and stable adult who easily creates good relationships with our children, their guardians, and your colleagues. You are positive, curious, learning-oriented, and reflective with good leadership qualities.

You put the children's best interests first and have the ability to meet each child based on their different needs, prerequisites, and motivation. You can work independently and organize a structured and developmental learning environment for the children.

You adapt your teaching based on the students' needs and prerequisites so that they can succeed and reach as far as possible in their learning. You are expected to be the secure adult for the students and contribute to a predictable learning environment. Here, we work together with colleagues, guardians, and student health services to create the best possible conditions for the students. We share ideas and experiences and are open to others' perspectives, which we assume you also wish to contribute to.

For you, it should feel natural to build trusting relationships with students through respect, empathy, and clarity, creating an inclusive environment where every student feels seen and valued.
