Do you want to take a central role in the development of future naval capabilities? We are now looking for a project manager who wants to work in technology-intensive and socially important projects within the Navy's logistics and amphibious systems. Here you get the opportunity to drive varied projects throughout the entire lifecycle – from new construction and development to modification, maintenance, and further development of naval platforms and systems.

Responsibilities

As a project manager, you will play a central role in working with naval platforms such as ships, boats, and systems within the Navy's logistics and amphibious systems. In this role, you are responsible for planning, driving, and following up on projects throughout the entire project cycle. You lead the work of preparing procurement documents and conducting procurements, contribute to the development of technical design solutions, and drive negotiations with suppliers. You will become part of a highly competent team where you combine your experiences and specialist knowledge to develop future sustainable naval projects.

In addition to working from planning to follow-up with the current project, you will also be responsible for ensuring that the execution of assignments towards the Swedish Armed Forces is in accordance with the agreed scope, time, cost, effect, and function. The assignments are carried out in close cooperation between industry, the Swedish Armed Forces, and various departments and units within the operational area.

The position is located in Karlskrona, and the work involves frequent travel both domestically and internationally.

About You

We are looking for you who are educated/have a degree in engineering or have equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equal.

You have several years of relevant and current work experience as a project manager and have, in addition, experience in requirements management. If you have an engineering background and experience in independently driving larger complex projects, technical system design, negotiation, and public procurement, we view this positively. Previous experience from FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) and/or the Swedish Armed Forces is also considered an asset.

To succeed in the role, we see that knowledge of project management tools and methods is necessary. We view it favorably if you also have knowledge regarding the use of naval materiel and knowledge of ship or boat systems for professional use, as well as knowledge of risk management in projects.

Furthermore, you communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing. A category B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities, and as an employee at FMV, you take own responsibility and work largely in projects together with your colleagues. Therefore, we are looking for you who have good structure and teamwork skills. Furthermore, you have good leadership skills, lead and motivate your employees, and adapt easily to changed circumstances. You work well with complex issues, and if you encounter problems, you have the ability to break them down and solve them.

FMV – Swedish Defence Materiel Administration

At FMV, you contribute to making Sweden and the world safer. We have the mandate to equip the Swedish Armed Forces with the latest technology and knowledge so they can defend our country and our allies. Together with competent and engaged colleagues, you get to develop and procure what sometimes does not even exist yet. You drive development all the way from need to delivery. From idea to reality.

The Business Area Naval Materiel is responsible for the new acquisition, modification, and maintenance of naval systems used by the Swedish Armed Forces. With professional employees, we carry out and develop the business together with the rest of FMV as well as in close cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces and industry. The Naval area consists of three producing departments: Surface Combat Systems, Underwater Combat Systems, and Amphibious, Support and Base Systems, and has operations in Stockholm, Karlskrona, and Malmö.

The position is located in the Amphibious, Support and Base Systems department, which currently consists of 75 engaged employees with high competence.

The Amphibious, Support and Base Systems department drives materiel projects related to the maintenance of ship and boat systems for Naval Support, Base, and Logistics units. Examples include Tross boats, School ships, Trossö, Carlskrona, Skonerter, and Artemis. As a project manager, you will contribute to historic growth within the Navy. Through your role, you will be part of influencing the materiel and systems that will be used within the Navy in the coming decades.
