Previous experience in the field is meritorious but not a requirement. However, you must have a desire to create quality of life for other people. Working as a substitute means you work on an hourly basis and step in as needed when staff are absent from operations.

We are in an exciting time with a focus on ombudsman roles, further education according to the Elderly Care Lift, and welfare technology. Our goal is to create modern and value-creating home care centers to meet the challenges we face.

The operations should provide support for a meaningful life where users can live under safe conditions, built on respect for self-determination and integrity.

We are now looking for substitutes who want to take on a substitute position over the summer.

⭐ Job Responsibilities

What does it mean to work as a substitute?

When you are employed as a substitute, you will receive oral general information from the unit manager/coordinator, as well as an introduction at the workplace together with permanent staff who will familiarize you with the tasks. The number of introduction sessions may vary.

You enter your availability yourself in our substitute system, Time Care Pool. The operations run every day of the week, day and night, and we prefer that you make yourself available for at least three shifts per week.

In home care, we work with planned visits in the form of care and service interventions. You perform some tasks independently, but colleagues are always nearby if you need help. Other tasks are performed together with colleagues. Your assignment includes having a good and service-oriented attitude towards users, relatives, colleagues, and other partners.

You will:

  • Provide support and help with transfers, showering, toilet visits, and dressing/undressing.
  • Serve meals and perform some cooking.
  • Supervision, relief, and accompaniment.
  • Cleaning, laundry, walks, and digital shopping.

As a substitute, you must complete and pass a medication training course provided by the municipality to be granted medication delegation.

⭐ Qualifications

We are looking for you who are interested in working in home care. Previous experience from the healthcare sector is meritorious.

To work in home care, a B-driving license or the ability to cycle is required.

Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.

What does our recruitment process look like?

  • Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
  • You need to provide two manager references, one of which must be your current or most recent manager. Have you had one job or no work experience before? Then you can provide another relevant reference, such as a supervisor or teacher. Contact your references before you enter their contact details.
  • If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former manager to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.

In this recruitment process, you do not need to attach a cover letter; instead, you will need to answer several selection questions.
